BONNAROO DENIES LED ZEPPELIN APPEARANCE

January 7th, 2008 · No Comments

There’s been another denial regarding Led Zeppelin’s rumored headlining slot at this year’s Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. The Daily News Journal in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, quotes Ken Weinstein, who’s the President of the festival’s publicity firm, Big Hassle, as saying, “It’s still a rumor and the information in (the U.K. tabloid) The Mirror is inaccurate. I speak on behalf of (Bonnaroo promoter) Superfly and AC Entertainment.”

On December 31st, The Mirror published a story that said Zeppelin would headline Bonnaroo, and the article also included this bit of info from “an insider”: “This is the news that will drive their fans absolutely wild. (Fans) have been bombarding (the Zeppelin) website to get back together for good, but only Robert Plant wasn’t keen to commit. Now he’s had a change of heart and if it goes well they are also talking about touring.”

There’s been no official word from the Zeppelin camp since their reunion show at the Ahmet Ertegun benefit in London last month, while Plant and country star Alison Krauss have announced a run of dates through Europe in May for their album called Raising Sand.

This year’s Bonnaroo Festival will be held from June 12th to the 15th
