The rumors about Eric Clapton and Roger Waters working together appear to be true. According to The Palm Beach Post, the old friends recently spent some time at Palm Beach Sound Studios in Riviera Beach, Florida, and Waters was reportedly clutching his Apple laptop “as if it were the Ark Of The Covenant” as he traveled between the sessions and the Brazilian Court Hotel in Palm Beach, where the rock legends were staying.
There’s been no official word from either man about what they’re up to — it could be new music, or they could be working on an updated version of the 1984 Waters record The Pros And Cons Of Hitchhiking, on which Clapton was featured (Clapton was also part of the tour to support the album).
Clapton and Waters took part in the Tsunami Aid fund raising effort back in January 2005, where they did the Pink Floyd classic “Wish You Were Here.”
- Clapton gets his summer tour underway on Saturday (May 3rd) in Tampa, Florida. Waters has shows in Texas this weekend — one in Dallas tomorrow (Friday, May 2nd) and one in The Woodlands on Sunday (May 4th). He’s also got dates in Europe booked for May.
