Petty and his band the Heartbreakers have signed on to do the halftime show for Super Bowl XLII (42), which takes place February 3rd at the University Of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona. Petty’s performance, along with the game, will air live on Fox in the U.S., where about 140 million people watched the last Super Bowl, and it will also be broadcast around the world in some 230 countries and territories, according to an NFL press release.
